mad hatters
I never ever wear hats besides the occasional beret (my sister, however, wore a hat for at least a third of her life), but i really do love them and feel the hat is today's most unappreciated accessory. Why can't we still live in an era where a gentleman isn't dressed without his hat and a well-dressed lady's outfit is as dependent on her fascinator as it is on her shoes?
Two modern milliners (hatters) that i really really admire are Stephen Jones and Phillip Treacy. Actually, are there any other milliners? Stephen Jones has done all of boy george's hats, some tricorns for dita von teese, and collaborated with Westwood, Galliano for Dior, Comme des Garcons, Gaultier, and Theirry Mulger. here are some favorites:
and then there's Philip Treacy who has done hats for grace jones (my favorite) and done collaborations with chanel, givency, and mcqueen.
