PLASTIC BAGGIE AND LEAF
torn at one corner
wrinkled and tossed
down among the blades of grass
forgotten
not even biodegradable
why do they hate me so
HEY BUDDY
what
WHY SO DOWN IN THE MOUTH
what do you
I JUST FELL DOWN FROM A TREE
ALL THE WAY UP THERE
YOU SEE IT
i don't have eyes
I TWISTED AND TURNED IN THE AIR ALL THE WAY DOWN HERE
some human threw me down here
I LOVE HUMANS
THEY PILE MY BROTHERS UP AND JUMP ON THEM
i was mass-manufactured in a factory
WE'RE ALL COLORFUL AND BEAUTIFUL
i just come in blue and white
AND THEN WE GET PILED UP AND BURNT SO WE CAN RENEW
you mean they actually burn you
RENEW
doesn't it hurt
RENEW
uh
RENEW
how long are you gonna lay on me like this
RENEW
could you scoot over or blow away or
RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW
oh for the love of
RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW RENEW
i get recycled at least
RENEW RENEW RE
...
WHAT'S THAT
they take bunches of me and melt me down to make new and bigger and better things
BUT HOW DO THEY
i guess i got that to look forward to
DIFFERENT THINGS YOU SAY
all you can be is another leaf
UH
i can be a plastic cup or a truck bed liner or anything they can make out of plastic
...
i could even be a new part of joan rivers' face
...
gee i feel better now
...
thanks for helping me feel better leaf
...
leaf
...
you still with me
I HATE MY LIFE WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH
oh for the
WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH WAAH
