Jordana also went on to co-star in the NBC mini-series The '60s (1999) (TV). The year 1998 marked her big-screen debut as "Delilah Profitt" in the teen-driven film, The Faculty (1998).

However, it was her role as "Mia Toretto" in the blockbuster hit The Fast and the Furious (2001) that led her to reach Hollywood stardom. Despite her success,

Jordana continued to attend Yale University, in the class of 2003.

A young actress with dark-haired good looks and a strong personality, Jordana Brewster was born in Panama City, Panama, on April 26, 1980; her father,

After graduating from high school, Jordana was accepted at Yale, but took time off from her studies to resume her acting career, appearing in two films in 2001, including the box-office blockbuster The Fast and the Furious.

While subsequent roles in D.E.B.S and Annapolis found the emerging actress climbing the credits list with impressive ease, the fact that both films went laregely unseen after receiving only lukewarm reception did little to slow the determined Brewster down.

Plugging Up A Site: T-Shirt Bordello

Kids, you who know me know that I do not talk up websites if they don't live up to the hype.

When I go to all the effort of telling you what a great place a certain website is and that you should visit it even if you have to type out the address with your nose, you should listen.

Really.  You should.

The site I'm about to tell you about now is a place that is altogether wonderful, outrageous and, in a word, fashionable.  Yes, consider this your style wake-up call, brothers and sisters.  This is a place you should visit now, in fact. Go on.  Go!

Oh wait!  I need to tell you about it first!  Jeez, sorry; got carried away.

Don Myers (whose middle name just happens to be "Of The Dead"...I like that middle name) contacted me a while back and gave me the heads-up on a site of his that, while up-and-coming, still needs to be made known to the public at large.  I wholly agree...as a matter of fact, I think this is a place that needs to be better known.  I'm completely serious here..look at me, do I look like I'm kidding here???

The name of the place is T-Shirt Bordello, a nice little place that originates out of Florida and is really starting to leap up and make waves.  Sure, there's other places like this online, but I think we've got a winner here.  Especially for the discriminating hunter and collector such as yourself.

T-Shirt Bordello is a site which specializes in t-shirts (duh), but not just any t-shirts.  These are shirts that you, as an individual, a regular reader of this site and someone who appreciates a good chuckle need.  Yes, thee are shirts which are funny - andnot funny in a Big Johnson shirt way.  We're being eclectic, here....

After all, we have a fine selection of preshrunk 100% cotton shirts (no blends here, kids - 100% COTTON!) which feature imagery from such well-respected standards as Star Trek, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Battlestar: Galactica, The Shining, Friday the 13th, Psycho and Ghostbusters.  Not to mention such well-respected individuals as Stephen King, George A. Romero, H.P. Lovecraft, David Hasselhoff, Bigfoot, John Stewart and Chuck Norris...well, of course you gotta have Chuck Norris in there, too.  That's a given.

Steve Carell Makes A Personal Goodbye Video to "The Office," Fans!

I made a failed attempt Thursday night to hold back my tears as Michael Scott made his last appearance on "The Office." After Thursday's episode, the greatest boss on television has thrown away the "World's Best Boss," mug (replacing it with a personal "World's Best Boss 2011," trophy from the Dunder Mifflin Staff) and packed his bags to be with his soulmate, Holly, in Colorado.

Those who've been a faithful "The Office," viewer have grown a love for it so pure, you practically consider yourself a Dunder Mifflin employee. We've watched Michael change from a bit of a selfish and at times pompous asshole to an absolute sweetheart. We've seen him go from what he THOUGHT was love (Jan) to what he KNEW was love (Holly). We've seen him fail as a friend but triumph just as quickly in many situations. We've seen him scheme to get his way and then do the right thing. We've seen him make a fool of himself and we've seen him step up to be a truly great person. We've seen him bring people down but we've seen him pick them back up. We've practically sat in that conference room and laughed, rolled our eyes, gasped aloud, and shook our head to the conversations brought up in there.

Michael Scott is many things. But we cannot deny how great of a man he is.

I'm talking as if someone has passed away or has moved, but see? That's just it. Michael Scott might be a fictional character, but the way Steve Carell has brought him to life, you can swear that you've worked for him, and that your heart pounded with happiness while you held that candle to aid Michael in that grand proposal he made to Holly. You also felt your heart shatter when just a minute later, he told us all he was leaving.

Tonight was so difficult, knowing that this wonderful show will continue without the person who brought it to what it is.

 4. Jordana Brewster - Although she may be an actress, 75% of those polled believed her to be a close relation to Punky and wondered why she didn't wear the mismatched shoes anymore.

 5. Medicaid health insurance - These three words have entered the same lexicon as other foreboding words of doom such as "triple bypass surgery", "level three earthquake" or "mother's coming over".  And yet, the list is still topped by the highest-rated triplet of doom, "Madonna's latest movie".

 10. Tungurahua volcano - Upset that the rest of the world's attention has been on Japan and the American South natural-disaster-wise, Ecuador's most popular volcano decided to make itself known today.  Though nearby residents are concerned that Tungurahua may have "overdone it.  A little".

Erhard Loretan

Erhard, completed the goal of reaching the Summit of all 14 8000 meters peaks in just 13 years at age 36.

When asked about those who would race to finish the 8000 meter peaks and those who would count lower Summits, Erhard Loretan said:

"This 'race' is a little outside the objective. I do not believe that it is a race between climbers rather it is between the 'media'. Perhaps I am mistaken. If people want to play, in my opinion, the climber must reach the highest point and without oxygen, of course. In fact, if you have a minimum of ethics, your heart will say to you if your climbing is clean or not. Personally, I went twice to Shishapangma because the first time, in 1990, the route to the main summit was dangerous. "

    His philosophy has always been the same - quickly and lightly. And being true to this, he succeeded in conquering the 14 8000ers in 13 years. He doesn't like roping up and he prefers quick ascents which minimize the risks attached to altitude.

    He was born on 28 April 1959 in the Swiss town of Freiburg in Bulle and he lives in the little village of Cresuz, Switzerland. He began climbing at the age of 11 and only 4 years later climbed the east face of the Doldenhorn (3645 meters).

    At the end of the 70s, he covered most of the Mont Blanc massif, including most of its classic routes and after a winter in Cervinia, in 1980 he went to the Andes where he made 3 new routes in addition to summiting Pallcaraju, the Ranrapalca, the Caras, the Artesonraju and the Huascaran (6768 meters). In 1982, he started his Himalayan career with a visit to Nanga Parbat (8126 meters). In 1981 he obtained his Swiss Mountain guide's diploma.

    He doesn't like being roped up, he prefers quick ascents which minimize the risks associated with altitude. His goal is to spend as little time as possible in the so-called "Death Zone". In 1995 he became the 3rd person in the world to climb the 14 summits over 8000 meters, after Reinhold Messner and Jerzy Kukuczka.

    He is the author of a book of “Photographs of the highest summits on the planet” to which he gave the following prologue - "What can provoke more enthusiasm in a young man, than discovering a passion which will fulfill his whole existence? As for climbing, is it not the best way of reaching heaven, as much physically as spiritually. I have taken the decision to live intensely, flirting with risk. I am always asked why I climb - the answer is found in the pictures I have taken - they open a window onto my experiences".

He trained as a cabinet-maker (1979) and mountain guide (1981) and began his climbing career at the age of 11. He died on his 52nd birthday while climbing the Grünhorn in the Swiss Alps.

Loretan was one of the few who have climbed all 14 eight-thousanders, a feat he accomplished at the age of 36. He made his first expedition to the Andes in 1980 and began his conquest of the 8,000 metres (26,247 ft) peaks in 1982 with the deadly Nanga Parbat. 13 years later, in 1995, he climbed the last of them, Kangchenjunga. In 1986, Loretan made a revolutionary ascent of Mount Everest in only 40 hours, climbing by night and without the use of supplementary oxygen.

Loretan was convicted in 2003 of the manslaughter of his seven-month-old son, after shaking him for a short period of time to stop him crying in late 2001. He was given a four-month suspended sentence. Publicity of the case raised awareness of the danger of shaking children due to weak neck muscles.

He died on – 28 April 2011 in a climbing accident in the Swiss Alps on his 52nd birthday.

Famed Swiss climber Erhard Loretan falls to death in Alps

Renowned Swiss climber Erhard Loretan has died in a climbing accident in the Swiss Alps on his 52nd birthday.


Swiss police say Loretan was leading a client up the summit ridge of the Gruenhorn, in the Bernese Alps, on Thursday afternoon when the pair fell.
The climber died at the scene, while his Swiss client was flown to hospital in a serious condition.

Loretan was one of the few people to have reached the summits of all 14 mountain peaks above 8,000m (26,247ft).

But his career was blighted by a family tragedy just before Christmas 2001, when he killed his own infant son by shaking him to death to stop him crying.

The two climbers fell for unknown reasons at a height of 3,800m, up the 4,043-m peak, police from the Swiss canton of Valais said.

It was a fall of 200m, according to Swiss newspaper La Tribune de Geneve.
Manslaughter conviction

Loretan, originally from the canton of Fribourg, began climbing at the age of 11.
He scaled his first 8,000-m peak, Nanga Parbat in Pakistan, in 1982.

Over the next 13 years, he climbed the other 13.

His 1986 ascent of Mount Everest, without bottled oxygen, by night and in just 40 hours, stunned the mountaineering world.

That same year, he climbed 38 Swiss peaks in 19 days, La Tribune de Geneve reports.

He told L'Objectif magazine in 1995 that he had an "extreme fear of death" but his fear kept him crucially alert when climbing.

For the manslaughter of his son of seven months, Loretan was convicted and given a suspended sentence of four months in 2003.

He said he had shaken the child for just a couple of seconds to stop him crying, then put him to bed and the crying had stopped. He later called an ambulance.

The case's notoriety led to new research showing many parents were unaware that infants can die from being shaken for only a few seconds, because of weak neck muscles, the Associated Press news agency recalls.

Είμαι ο Gus και μαζί σ’ αυτήν τη στήλη θα δούμε νέους και φρέσκους άγνωστους καλλιτέχνες, κατευθείαν από την απέραντη βαθειά θάλασσα του YouTube!
Καταρχήν θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω τον αγαπημένο μου φίλο και εμπνευστή-πατέρα του blog αυτού, του οποίου την πρόταση δέχτηκα με μεγάλη χαρά! Τι τιμή, ώ πατέρα Music Bug!
Ο λόγος που λάτρεψα αμέσως τη στήλη αυτή είναι το γεγονός ότι πιστεύω ακράδαντα ότι η μουσική δεν έχει όρια, είναι ανεξάρτητη από κάθε μεγάλη η μικρή δισκογραφική εταιρία, είναι πέρα από κάθε μεγάλο, μικρό η άσημο όνομα. Όταν η μουσική είναι καλή, αξίζει να ακουστεί όπως και να’ χει! Όταν ένα τραγούδι κάνει τη διαφορά, συνοδεύεται από μια όμορφη φωνή και από μια προσεγμένη ενορχήστρωση τότε δεν έχει καμία σημασία αν προέρχεται από κάποιο μεγάλο σταρ η από κάποιο μικρό αστεράκι χαμένο κάπου εκεί στο youtubiako γαλαξία!
Γι’ αυτό λοιπόν στη στήλη αυτή θα δημοσιεύονται καλλιτέχνες οι οποίοι είναι άγνωστοι, αλλά ωστόσο καθόλου τυχαία έχουν σημειώσει πολλές καλές κριτικές και χιλιάδες views στο Youtube.
Φτυάρια ανά χείρας, σακίδιο στην πλάτη, παγούρι στη ζώνη και φύγαμε!

Simon Curtis: The Father Monster (?)

Η αρσενική version της Lady Gaga? Το θέλει πολύ τουλάχιστον! Αποκαλεί τους fans του «robots»(ενώ η Lady  «monsters» όπως είναι γνωστό). Πάντως σίγουρα τα τραγούδια του είναι εξαιρετικά και δεν υπολείπονται σε τίποτα από εκείνα αρκετών γνωστών ονομάτων στη μουσική βιομηχανία!
Ο Αμερικανός ρομποτοπατέρας δηλώνει μουσικός, συνθέτης, τραγουδιστής, ηθοποιός και παραγωγός! Μπορεί στα 10 του να ήρθε αντιμέτωπος με τη σοβαρή ασθένεια της λευχαιμίας, αλλά αυτό του έδωσε δύναμη να προχωρήσει δυναμικά στη ζωή του και να κάνει αυτό που πραγματικά θέλει! Τώρα, λοιπόν, είναι εδώ να αναγεννήσει την ΤeenPOP και να την εμπλουτίσει με dark electro στοιχεια!

Επιρροές του? Εκτός από τη μούσα του Britney Spears, είναι οι N*Sync και η Lady Gaga!
Για unsigned artist η δουλειά του παραείναι επαγγελματική! Η socialική δύναμη που έχει σημειώσει πλέον (20.000 followers στο Twitter) και η youtubική του επιτυχία τον έκανε να πεί ΟΧΙ σε ένα «τρομακτικά μεγάλο», όπως ο ίδιος ανέφερε, συμβόλαιο της SONY. Και ο λόγος? Επειδή δεν ήθελε να αναλωθεί σε πιθανές μακροπρόθεσμες απαιτήσεις της εταιρίας! Να πω την αλήθεια, αν και ριψοκίνδυνο, το βρίσκω πολύ έξυπνο! Αυτό είχε όμως ως άμεση συνέπεια να ξοδέψει ο ίδιος ο Simon μαζί με τον παραγωγό του Jeff “Jadion” Wells, 13 ολόκληρες ημέρες να γράψει και να ηχογραφήσει το πρώτο του προσωπικό άλμπουμ «8Bit Heart» το 2009.

Το Billboard εκτιμά ότι κατά το 2010 το 8Bit Heart κατεβάστηκε 150.000 φορές από το επίσημο site του, το οποίο μπορεί κανείς να το κατεβάσει… δωρεάν!

Ο Simon είπε ότι δεν ήταν μια χαμένη ευκαιρία στο να βγάλει χρήματα βγάζοντας το άλμπουμ του προς πώληση και ότι αυτό που σκοπεύει ο ίδιος μέσα από το να το δημοσιεύσει δωρεάν είναι να κάνει ένα μεγάλο πρώτο βήμα ως νέος καλλιτέχνης για μια επιτυχημένη καριέρα!
Σε λίγες μέρες θα βγει ΕΠΙΤΕΛΟΥΣ και το 2^ο άλμπουμ του με τίτλο “RΔ”.

Απ’ ο,τι φαίνεται στο review πρέπει να είναι WOW!

PLUS: Οι ενορχηστρώσεις και τα εφέ είναι ABSOLUTELY WOW!!!

MINUS: 4 στα 10 τραγούδια είναι κάτω των 3 λεπτών!

Μια σύντομη κριτική στο άλμπουμ:

Boy Robot: Ένα intro που σε βάζει για τα καλά στο πνεύμα των τραγουδιών που ακολουθούν.

Don’t Wanna Be Alone: Dark and groovy!   10/10

Fell In Love w/an Android: ΚΟΜΜΑΤΑΡΑ! Ακόμα και τον τύπο-αγγούρι στο club, ο ρυθμός τον κάνει να του φύγουν τα άλατα απ’ τις κλειδώσεις!   10/10

Super Psycho Love: Με ανατολίτικη εισαγωγή σε βάζει σε μια dark πυραμίδα όπου, μετά το θάνατό της το 2000, θάφτηκε η Teen Pop… Resurrection now!!!   9/10

8Bit Heart: Χαμηλώνει το beat… Πολύ cute ποπ κομμάτι, με το Simon να λιώνει κυριολεκτικά στο μικρόφωνο!   8/10

Diablo: Με εισαγωγή κάτι από Radar τις Britney, με αναφορές στo “Since U Been Gone” της Kelly Clarkson και με το παιχνίδισμα στους στίχους της Britney από το “If U Seek Amy” στο δεύτερο κουπλέ κατάφερε να κάνει το τραγούδι DIRTY POP επιτυχία!   10/10

The Neverending Elevator: Simon is talking to the phone!

Delusional: Dirty POP! Musical sex between *Nsync & BSB!   10/10

Joystick: Dirty Teen POP again! Φέρτε μου ένα χορογράφο ΤΩΡΑ!!!   9/10

Beat Drop: Το απόλυτο κομμάτι του άλμπουμ! Ο ρυθμός απλά τα σπάει… τα παρκέ! Με samples από το λατρεμένο μου “Queen of the night” από την όπερα «Μαγικός Αυλός» παντρεύει τον Αμαντέους με τον Justin Timberlake! Και σα να μην έφταναν όλα αυτά, τσουπ! Πετάγεται και η Lady φωνάζοντας «Want your bad romance!» στην αρχή του δεύτερου ρεφρέν! Αυτά είναι!   10’/10

Brainwash: Power Pop κομμάτι με φοβερά φωνητικά εφέ! Αγαπώ!   9/10

The Dark (Featuring Jay-Z): O Justin Timberlake μέσα του! Αρκετά καλό!   7/10

Victory: Μελαγχολικό outro… :-( Θέλουμε κι άλλοοο!!!
