Annoying People Suck.

I'm not alone in this thinking, am I?

If someone gets in your face with their attitude, their obtuse beliefs and thick-headed non-thinking, then that is annoying and that person is, in essence, insufferable.

Right?

I know for a fact that there are those out there who think that I, of all people, am annoying. Fair enough. I think those people are annoying for pointing out my annoyance, so we're evenly matched, I guess. The thing is, with so many billion people in the world, not everyone can be likable, easy-going Joe Schmo. Annoying people are a necessary evil, it seems; without them, the nice people wouldn't stand out like they do.

And there seems to be no one more annoying than celebrities. Not necessarily actors, mind you: just celebrities.

Definitions:

ACTOR - an individual who performs in films, on television, on stage or in public who continually hones their craft and makes the viewer believe that what they are doing, how they are performing in front of them and everything they are saying is equivalent to reality and also pleasant to experience.

Examples: George C. Scott, Meryl Streep, Ronald Reagan, Marilyn Chambers.

CELEBRITY - a (perhaps) once-talented-but-now-talentless individual who uses crass self-indulgence to thrust themselves into the popular spotlight and keep themselves exposed at all times and, at the same time, voice opinions and/or beliefs that not only go against common sense and propriety but make that individual the object of consistent ridicule and derision, and they are also unpleasant to experience.

Examples: Paris Hilton, Pauly Shore, Lindsay Lohan, your choice of American Congressmen.

Don't get me wrong: celebrities are not the only purveyors of annoyance: the Internet itself is a perfect example of a breeding ground for contemptible behavior and contemptible individuals. As a matter of fact, the mantle of invisibility and anonymity is the ideal guise for most people to go on website boards and personal blogs and simply be outright rude and obnoxious to everyone who is unlucky to post in their line of fire. I have witnessed many examples of that online myself (several of them in the last year, in fact - I won't name them: why advertise them?) and feel no more enriched for having had to put up with them. Few people do, but in any event: shame on annoying 'Net people.

Who are the absolute best examples of annoying people? Besides my vote for most annoying person and my own personally-crowned Hollywood's Modern Day Kiss of Death, the most prize examples are available at this site: amiannoying.com, which lists the most annoying individuals on the planet, celebrity or not, along with those who are not quite so annoying.

You have your own examples, I am sure, and I have several others I could and would love to point out but that would only make them stand out more and, God knows, these are people who don't deserve to be pulled out from under their rocks and exposed to the daylight. Let us just leave it at this:

Annoying people suck.

Gee, that should be made into a bumper sticker.

Later.

Dope out.
