I was thinking the other night about the reviews I post here - I've done a lot of them so far (and have a lot more to go through), and even if I don't like a movie, I think enough of it to at least write my opinion of it.
So what happens after you write a review? People read it, either agree or disagree with it or even base your opinion on whether you see the movie or not on what the review itself says.
And sometimes, if you're lucky, you get to see a blurb from your review on a DVD case for that same-said movie.
With that in mind, I have a handful of reviews that I've done that I wouldn't mind seeing used on DVDs, Blu-Rays, that kind of thing.
Here are my choices:
GANJASAURUS REX - "I ... know a film that is goofily entertaining when I see it. And Ganjasaurus Rex is most definitely such a film."
SUPERSONIC MAN - "You MUST watch Supersonic Man at least once. Maybe twice."
TURKISH WIZARD OF OZ - "If you can get a hold of this movie, go for it."
NORTH - "A funny, sustained comedy. In fact, it holds up better than a lot of other so-called comedies that have come out in recent years."
SLUGS - "This is a ride that will whip you around at top speed from beginning to end, first scene to last."
BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS - "Worth finding, worth watching."
PRINCE OF DARKNESS - "A good, scary movie done by a writer/director in his prime."
INVASION USA - "One of the - if not THE - best of 1985."
THE EXPENDABLES - "The event film your testosterone has been waiting for."
EEGAH - "Smile, sit back and enjoy."
What about you? Do you have any blurbs from your own reviews that you think would make great DVD cover additions? Post 'em up - either here or do your own post of such on your own blog and leave a link here, even - I think it does one good to see their own words used for advertising their favorite movies.
Put your money where your review lines are, folks - show me your blurbs!
Dope out.
