Robert Culp Dies at 79.

Damn, this is a tough one.

And this was a tough guy, too. From spy to government agent to video game bad guy, Robert Culp had an interesting life - married five times, poker buddy of Hugh Hefner's, wrote several episodes of his classic "I-Spy" TV series and even an unproduced TV pilot that was to have been directed by Sam Peckinpah

Wotta guy.

I thought he was the epitome of cool even when he played Bill Maxwell on "The Greatest American Hero", and looking back on his past triumphs (Did you know he was in no less than three episodes of the classic series "The Outer Limits" and even hosted an episode of "Saturday Night Live"? Neither did I.), I guess that he really was.

What is it, though, with all of our icons and heroes dying? That just makes us older and no wiser. Well, maybe a little wiser. If we can live and have as good a life as Robert Culp did, then we must be doing something right.

Rest in peace, good sir. You've definitely earned it.

Dope out.
