The quick fall from grace. The humiliating debasement of a good name. The succumbing to the basest of desires. The overall failure to maintain a high moral character. The moment when a public persona, no matter how pure and untouched it had been perceived beforehand, is irrevocably and forever tarnished.
And when it happens to a member of a family with royal roots, it is all the more devastating.
Look at the sad tale of Leia Organa, Princess to the Royal Family and Imperial Senator of Alderaan. Her father, Bail Organa, was a respected member of the Galactic Senate and ruler of one of the most tranquil, peaceful planets in the galaxy.
When her family, planet and way of life was all destroyed in one swift stroke by Imperial Forces, every member of the Rebellion rallied around her and gave her the resolve to empower the Rebel forces to win decisive victories from Yavin to Endor.
She was an emblem of freedom and victory for those who fought and thirsted for justice the universe over.
She was respected.
Loved.
Honored by many peoples.
...and then this picture surfaced during the Hoth Campaign:
No longer did the Alderaanian way of life seem so pure.
And for that matter, neither were the Wookiees.
But even then, as damaging as this picture was to her perceived image as a ruler and a symbol of light, it was nothing when compared to one particular moment when she was heard singing.
Princess Leia should NEVER be heard singing. Ever.
At least her mother never sang.

Dope out.
