horrible 90s

i've always sort of been on the fence about the 90s as far as decades go (i.e. scrunchies). don't get me wrong, i was way into grunge and if it weren't for the likes of Green Day and P.U.S.A., i probably wouldn't be the musical intellectual i am today. but the fashion was pretty lame. Still, I was watching the top 100 songs of the 90s on VH1 and fiona apple was on there and i was REALLY inpressed by her style a la 'criminal.' she could be an american apparel model. who cares if she dated marilyn manson, so did my patron saint, dita.

Here are my top 5 90s songs, from what i can remember and from what i've seen so far on the show:
Green Day "Basketcase" - the first song that wasn't Weird Al or They Might Be Giants or Motown that i was into. also my first cassette tape that i bought myself.
Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun" - this music video was sick, by sick i mean the "duuuuude that's siiiiick" sick
Presidents of the United States of America "Lump" simple yet classic.
Smashing Pumpkins "Zero" they were weird and arty and way bad ass
Weezer"Buddy Holly" i love nerdy 50's boys. this is before weezer decided to write shitty pop songs that could be later covered on cds with names like "Kidz Bop"

honorable mentions include 'today was a good day' by ice cube and anything by biggie, only because i wasn't into them in the 90s so i didn't think it was fair to include them.

oh, and is it me, or does Marc McGrath of Sugar Ray fame look like Carrot Top or is it just me?

or does carrot top look like fergie?
