Football: Football fans gear up for Champions League final
Spain lifted the 2010 FIFA World Cup, following their European Championship win two years earlier and now Spanish club Barcelona could yet again fly the Spanish flag high, if the team lifts the Champions League title in Wembley.

It has been dubbed a "dream match" as both Barcelona and Manchester United won their domestic titles. So naturally the Spanish community in Singapore, numbering 700, is looking forward to the match.

Federico Palomera, the Spanish Ambassador to Singapore, said: "The Spanish community is organising a collective view, so far around fifty to sixty people are going to watch it at Bobby's at Chijmes and it's not only Spaniards, there is also supporters of Barcelona because it is a worldwide team.

"Barcelona has supporters everywhere. (There will be) Spaniards (as well as) supporters of Barcelona from Singapore and even as far as Russia I have been told."

In Singapore, Manchester United fans will clearly outnumber their Spanish counterparts, and one of their hangouts would be St James Power Station. The outlet is expecting a good turnout despite the 2.45am Singapore time kick-off on Sunday. Read More
