SHSH Blobs Saver Tool iFaith Updated For iPhone iPad and iPod Touch

iH8sn0w has released an updated version of iFaith tool. The updated version iFaith v1.1 is just a minor updated. Remember its a Windows only tool. Mac version is arriving soon according to the developer. If you are unaware of this tool, iFaith, a SHSH Dumper tool iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch device. iFaith helps you dump the SHSH on your iDevice even the current firmware even if Apple has stopped signing it. But remember the tool can be used only if your iOS device is vulnerable to Limera1n exploit, which simply means all devices expect the iPad 2 which is kind of more sophisticated with an A5 Chip inside it. Other exceptions are the iPod Touch 2G and iPhone 3G devices

The developer has listed the following new features:

  • Code improvement.
  • iFaith now SHA1′s the SHSH blob.
  • Now alerts user when iFaith was unable to hook iTunes instead of crashing.
  • Minor Bug fixes with device/iOS detection.

iFaith v1.1 shsh blobs

Simply, this is what iFaith is capable of:

  • It dumps SHSH Blobs
  • It creates Signed IPSW file with dumped SHSH blobs
  • Sends this SHSH blobs file to a remote location as a backup for later use.

Remember you don’t need to have a jailbroken device in order for iFaith tool to operate. If you are unaware what SHSH blobs are and why are they used, follow the below paragraph:

What are SHSH Blobs?

For the people who are not familiar, SHSH Blob is a signature verification file against Apple Server. It verifies that the iDevice is running the latest version of iOS. Saving SHSH blobs will allow you to restore to previous version. While doing so Apple will stop you doing the restore process. To make this happen you have send a request to different servers which forwards SHSH blobs to iTunes by just showing it that its a new version of iOS. This is how TinyUmbrella or iSHSHIT works to help you save SHSH blobs.
