Kim Kardashian gives herself a lift in a pair of towering platform wedge heels

Kim Kardashian is only 5 foot 2 inches tall so no one would blame her for trying to give herself a little extra height.

But the 30-year-old reality star took her desire for extra inches to the extreme yesterday as she stepped out in a vertigo-inducing pair of wedge heels.

Kim was sported the six inch black espadrille style platform pumps as she left her home in Beverly Hills.

She paired the unstable looking footwear with boyfriend style jeans and a brown crochet jumper.

Kim also toted one of her favourite Hermes Kelly bags in black as she headed out to a waiting chauffeur driven SUV.

Kim is heading to Minnesota where she is attending a Twins baseball game tonight.

'Hi Minnesoooota!' Kim tweeted. 'Heading to the twins game tonight! This should be fun!'

This week, Kim has been busy making arrangements for her upcoming wedding to NBA star Kris Humphries by visiting Vera Wang who is said to be designing the star's wedding dress.

Kim is said to be is close to finalising a deal with E! network to film her wedding ceremony, which will feature many members of the Kardashian clan.

Khloe and Kourtney will be her maids of honour while younger sibling Kendall and Kylie will be bridal attendants.

Kourtney's son Mason is expected to be the ring bearer.

According to TMZ, Kim has also hired an entire fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms and Maybachs to ferry the wedding party and VIP guests between the ceremony and reception.

The website claims that she has struck a deal with Platinum Motorsports in LA to provide an armada of all-white luxury vehicles for her big day.

Kim has been very busy organising the nuptials in recent weeks - she has shopped for suits with her fiancé Kris and also taken lessons with Dancing With The Stars professional Mark Ballas.

Meanwhile, Kim's friends are not letting on about what she will wear for the big day, including Project Runway host Heidi Klum, who got close to Kim when she appeared as a guest judge on the show.

'Everyone wants to know what she's gonna wear,' Heidi told E! 'I don't know!'

'I'm sure she's gonna find something beautiful. She has good taste and she loves clothes.'
