Fahrenheit faces possible disbandment next year

Fahrenheit continues to make headlines following the devastating news of member Wu Chun’s leave. The latest reports point out that the Fahrenheit trio’s contracts with HIM Records will be up for renewal next year, which could mean the end of the successful boy group. The fate of disbanding seems increasingly plausible due to conflicts between the remaining members; there are rumors of Jiro Wang receiving an offer from a movie company, Aaron Yan has already gone solo, and Calvin Chen has his own shows to host.

After Wu Chun, Aaron is believed to be the next member that wants to go solo the most as he is the only one that has released his own solo mini album to date. When news of Wu Chun leaving broke out, Aaron wrote on his micro-blog, “I will continue to work hard on my own…I wish all my ‘older-brothers’ (group mates) all the best.” Fans were curious as to why he said he would be “on his own” and interpreted it that Aaron was going solo.

In actual fact, the remaining trio has been doing many solo activities, where Aaron and Jiro each have their own endorsements and Calvin has invested in the trendy clothing business. Aaron, Calvin, and Jiro renewed their contracts with HIM Records last year, and it will be ending next year. Whether they will renew with the company again, it is too hard to tell. HIM Records expressed, “The three and the company have been working well together. Each of them have their own plans. Jiro Wang is currently preparing for his album, and Calvin has been hosting and has released a book as well.”

Aaron released the Japanese version of his solo mini album. He went to Osaka and Tokyo to hold promotional events, attracting two thousand fans. Interestingly, Wu Chun also went to Tokyo to hold two fan meetings. Since singing is his achilles’ heel, he mainly played games with the fans and won over the fans with his painful expressions from receiving the punishment of drinking bitter tea and pure lemon juice.
