I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed this, but sometimes you'll see a poster for a soon-to-be-shown movie at your friendly local theater and think, "Hey, haven't I seen that before"?
Well, chances are you have.
I cite the following examples: maybe you've noticed the eerie sameness in these two posters for these two very different love stories:
Weird, huh? And how about the sameness in these two beauties:
(...and from the same year - 1993 - no less!)
But of course there's some that insist they're "homages" to past betters, and not outright ripoffs. Of course, In Steven Soderbergh's case, I believe him:
And then there's the familiar face of our good old Uncle Sam, picked on at least three different times (that I could find, at least!):
And on the other side of the "war" coin, we have the iconic symbol that was the poster for M*A*S*H. But was it really that original?
Nope, guess not. ; /
Ah well, as you can plainly see, a lack of originality isn't just apparent in movies themselves. It's also on view in their posters.
Dope out...oh, and on a personal note, I had no idea that Otto Preminger had ties with the Hezbollah.
No idea at all.
