Do NOT Patronize The Following Spammers...!

Okay, this kind of thing has really got to stop.

Really.

My first review in a while was recently posted, and so what do I get? A message from our old friend Anonymous, pushing for those male-enhancement drugs where those guys all sit in a circle, playing guitars and singing its praises.

You know the one; I won't even give them the benefit of saying their name.

Anyhoo: I naturally did not allow the post to soil my nice clean blog, so no worries there, but this Anonymous made a fatal error in his/her/its (I'm leaning towards "its", myself) posting because, you see, these links for this drug all have to have been posted somewhere for the innocent masses to click if they are indeed fooled to do so. Therefore, rather than click the link(s) and give them the satisfaction, I simply right-clicked a link and chose "Properties". In doing so, I found that all of these links had the same exact originating site:

>>> simplyfired.com <<<

Now, DON'T cut and paste that link I just gave you up there, even if curiosity is gnawing at you. There's a purpose to this: I want you, all 12 of my faithful readers, to do you old Uncle Dope a favor. Go to the following link instead:

http://www.simplyhired.com/a/our-company/contact-us

...and use their little form they have to tell them that there is someone in their "organization" (probably some 350-pound neck-bearded online gamer in his middle-aged parents' basement, but anyway...) that is spamming otherwise respectable blogs, boards and such with male-enhancement drug advertisements - and this is NOT advertising that sells, nor is it a reason for anyone to want to visit their site for anything more serious than spam handouts. And tell them they need to have a word with Tiny McSpamalot and either dock him a month's pay, fire him, publicly flog him or given him paper cuts all over his body then rub lemons all over him - whichever would hurt the most.

These idiots really need to stop this. It isn't funny and it's damn irritating to get these things in your comments box when all you really want is actual commentary from actual humans. Not spam.

I hate spam. Detest it. Loathe it. And I loathe anyone who partakes in it. If you spread spam to people who do not want in in their in-boxes, comment boxes, message boards and legitimate communities, then I loathe you, too. Nothing personal, but there is such a thing as common decency - you may want to read up on it.

There. Now I feel better. Thanks.

I now return you to your regularly-scheduled blog.

Dope out.

The Worst Part About Owning A Blog...

Don't get me wrong; I love this blog.

It's fun, I write about things I like (or don't like, sometimes) and get feedback from all 12 of my faithful readers.

And yet...

Sometimes I also get comments that are about absolutely and positively nothing at all. Yes, I'm talking about the one, the only:

So, I post my latest review just last night and log on this morning, expecting at least ONE comment - I open up the ol' blog and find no less than EIGHT comments waiting to be moderated!

"Yes," I think to myself: ""Finally some mass feedback!"

...and then I open them.

Only to be greeted by the following lines -

Okay, first of all, none of these were linked to my last review (they were all over the place!); second, not a one of them had a person's name or even an e-mail to connect them to - every one of them wanted to simply hijack the blog with stupid advertising for whatever. And third, out of all of these spams, only one of them used proper grammar and punctuation, but then the context of their letter made no sense (seeing as it was on my Merry Christmas post!!!).

In short, each and every one of the "people" who posted these spams on my blog is an idiot. I will not gratify them by posting what names or monikers they used in their posts (aliases, no doubt), only to say that I hope and pray that each one of them suffers from all the pestilence and trauma described by similar blasphemers in the Old and New Testaments and that you wrap your heads in sackcloth and wail and gnash your teeth the rest of your days.

Buncha jerks.

Anyway, if you're gonna post on here, do me a favor and check the spam at the door. Okay? Thanks.

'Bye.

Dope out.

P.S. - What in the hell is runescape powerleveling, anyway?????? WAIT. Waitwaitwait - don't answer me, anyone - it'll only mean more spam. Grrr....

The Funniest Site I've Been To...So Far.

I've been on the 'Net for awhile and seen a lot of sites that try to be funny (my miserable little blog included) and fail quite badly at it.

Maybe it's topicality?

Maybe it's their choice in targets of humor?

Maybe it's the fact that they aren't very funny themselves to begin with?

Maybe....

All I know is that if a site is going to try and be funny, then it better be about a subject that I agree needs ribbing and does it in an altogether unique way. That, friends and neighbors, is why I'm recommending that you click on the link that I'm about to show you. It is funny and it makes fun of a needy subject.

Ready?

It's Spamusement!

That's right: it's a site that pokes fun at the things in life that truly need it: those stupid intro lines to the spam e-mails we all have gotten at least once (or a million times) in our inbox. How do they do it? By making crudely drawn cartoons relating to the subject line in the vaguest way possible.

Allow me to explain....

Say a line on a spam-mail begins thusly:
"get rid of premature ejactulation and last longer"

This is the cartoon they make for it:

Ya see?! It's funny!!

And there's plenty of them on the site. My side is still hurting and eyes watering from the laughing I did at some of these. And yes, if you have the same, twisted sense of humor I have, you'll be collapsed in your chair, a gasping, cackling waste of humanity much like I.

So go and have a good laugh. You deserve it.

(and yes, I've noticed that I'm posting much more regularly now. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :D )

Dope out.

Idiots With E-Mails....

My second non-video post in a row, I know - but this is important.

What gets into the heads of some people - it's bad enough that they spam-mail innocent people (read: me) by e-mail, but the fact that they preface their spam with ramblings that your average electro-shock therapy patient would be embarrassed to babble is just too stupid for words. Stupid, I tell you!!

An example, you say?

Well, for starters, I refuse to acknowledge the sender of this stupidity because Lord knows they don't need any more exposure, and I won't even talk about what they were spamming. The letter itself was headed thusly:
----------

Sure. Makes sense...in a stupid, moronic way.

But why stop there? Just before they inundate me with whatever the heck it is they're hawking (honestly, I don't even remember what it is and don't care to look it up again) they preface it with the following; shown here, in its unexpurgated form:

Thank you. And Dope out.
