SALMA HAYEK BIOGRAPHY

SALMA HAYEK BIOGRAPHY

Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, as Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez-Pinault to Spanish opera singer, Diana Jiménez Medina and Lebanese oil company executive, Sami Hayek Dominguez in Coatzacoalcos (Veracruz, Mexico). She was raised as a Roman Catholic and went to the Academy of the Sacred Hearts in New Orleans (Louisiana) when she was twelve years old. During this time and for most of her teenage years, she stayed in Houston with her aunt. She studied International Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City for some time before dropping out. While she was still in school, she was diagnosed as suffering from dyslexia.

Career and Hollywood Break
Her first brush with fame came in 1989 when she starred as the titular character in the Mexican short run television series Teresa. This brief stint on television, made Salma, only 23 years old then, a star all over Mexico. Thereafter, she moved to Los Angeles so that she could improve her English in order to give shape to her dreams of making it big as a successful, famous actress in Hollywood. Salma Hayek got her first lead role in Hollywood opposite Antonio Banderas in the 1995 blockbuster Desperado, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by his wife Elizabeth Avellan. Although her Hollywood debut, Desperado was her second motion picture after the multiple award winning Mexican blockbuster film El Callejon de los Milagros. She received an Ariel Award nomination in the category of Best Actress for this movie.

There was no looking back for her after the success of Desperado. Salma Hayek, the actress, the star, the personification of glamor and sensuality, had arrived. Fair Game happened next, followed by the likes of From Dusk Till Dawn, Fools Rush In and Wild Wild West. By this time, she had carved a niche for herself in Hollywood. She became one with the glitz and glamor of celebrity-hood while, at the same time, maintaining a rare class of her own.

Film Production and Other Works
The year 2000 marks the beginnings of a new chapter in this Salma Hayek biography as around this time, Salma Hayek laid the foundations of her production company, Ventanarosa. The idea of film production was there in her mind for some time but the idea of starting her own production company became stronger when she produced El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba, which ended up as Mexico's official entry to the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category. Subsequently, she got involved in a lot of film production ventures such as Frida, In The Time of the Butterflies and the Maldonado Miracle (which she herself directed). She is also an executive producer of the television series Ugly Betty. Talented to the core as she is, Salma Hayek has also recorded songs for the movies Desperado, Frida and Once Upon a Time In Mexico. She has modeled for luxury brands like Chopard and Campari.

Fanning has German and Irish ancestry. She and her family are Southern Baptist. She attends Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California, and is on the varsity spirit cheerleading squad. Mini Biography

Hannah Dakota Fanning was born on the 23rd of February 1994, in Conyers, Georgia, USA. Before her debut into the cinematic world, Dakota did her own acting around her house. She was very active for her age, and often put a blanket under her shirt and pretended to be having a baby, using her younger sister, Elle Fanning, who is also an actress now, as the baby. Dakota went to a playhouse near her home, where the children that attended put on a play every week to show to their parents. But the people running the playhouse noticed that Dakota stood out, and advised her parents, Joy and Steven Fanning, to take her to an agency. They believed that she was extremely talented.

The Fanning family were advised to spend six weeks in Los Angeles, a long way from their home in Georgia. But there Dakota managed to get her first work; to star in a national Tide commercial. She was chosen out of many, many other children.

The family then decided to move to Los Angeles permanently, for it looked like Dakota's career was looking very good. After they moved, Dakota signed with a professional agency, and soon won a role in the movie Tomcats (2001). She then went onto a small project called Father Xmas (2001) as Clairee.

But Dakota's big break-through was yet to come. She auditioned for one of the main characters in I Am Sam (2001), and the director and the rest of the crew were amazed by her extraordinary talent. Dakota was cast, and starred in the movie as Lucy Diamond Dawson, alongside major Hollywood stars Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer.

After I Am Sam (2001) her talent was immediately recognized around the world. She went straight onto Trapped (2002) as Abby Jennings, alongside Charlize Theron, then played the younger version of Reese Witherspoon in 2002's Sweet Home Alabama (2002) But Dakota still had two more movies to come in 2002. Firstly she got a huge role in Steven Spielberg's "Taken" (2002), the mini-TV series, and narrated the ten whole episodes, as well as having a part. This was a little more challenging, as she was playing a troubled alien child, but she managed to do brilliantly. Her last movie for 2002 was the children's movie Hansel & Gretel (2002) as Katie.

2003 was also a brilliant year for Dakota, as she starred in a number of exciting projects. Firstly, it was as Sally Walden in The Cat in the Hat (2003) with Mike Myers, then she played Lorraine "Ray" Schleine, a bratty little girl, in the sweet comedy Uptown Girls (2003) alongside Brittany Murphy. She then voiced preschool Kim in Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time (2003) (TV).

In 2004, Dakota appeared in the violent thriller, Man on Fire (2004), alongside Denzel Washington. Her reviews were excellent.

First in 2005 was Nine Lives (2005), as Maria, then the chilling Hide and Seek (2005) alongside Robert De Niro. By now, she was the busiest child actress in Hollywood, with a resume to die for. Her younger sister, Mary Elle Fanning (Elle Fanning), had also been discovered a few years earlier.

After Hide and Seek (2005) came War of the Worlds (2005), which was one of her major movies out of everything she'd worked in. Not only did it make her more popular, but she got to play the daughter of A-list Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. They had four very successful premieres; the first in Tokyo, Japan, the second in France, the third in London, England and the fourth in New York, USA. The reviews were outstanding, especially Dakota's. She then voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005) (V), which she has just completed.

SIENNA MILLER PROFILE

Profile
* Born: 28 December 1981
* Birthplace: New York, New York
* Best Known As: Jude Law's ex-girlfriend and star of Factory Girl

Biography
With a mother who ran London's famed Lee Strasberg drama school -- and being the sort of knockout blonde beauty adored by the cameras -- it was not surprising that Sienna Miller eventually gravitated to an acting career. Born in New York to an American banker father and a mother who was always associated with the arts, young Miller received her primary education at the Heathfield School in Ascot, Surrey, before pursuing acting at New York's Lee Strasberg Institute. Her feature debut in the 2002 drama Joy Rider found the emerging actress caught in the middle of a heated love triangle, and after essaying a role in a BBC television drama Bedtime in 2001, Miller crossed the pond to appear on the stateside series Keen Eddie. Trading zingers with the series' lead Mark Valley, Miller played her character with just the sort of chemistry needed to make an action comedy series work. If subsequent roles in the films Layer Cake and Alfie weren't enough to get people talking about Miller, her relationship with the latter film's star, Jude Law, certainly helped keep gossip columnists in business. A mere week after Law and longtime wife Sadie Frost divorced, the handsome actor and the rising starlet were rumored to have purchased an apartment together in a more secluded area of New York. But Miller's greatest coup was yet to come, for she soon netted her first lead in a major American feature: that of Katya, a twentysomething member of the glitterati who engages a member of the paparazzi (Steve Buscemi) in some seriously devious mind games when he sets out to interview her, in Buscemi's directorial outing Interview. Meanwhile, Miller joined Robert de Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and others for a supporting role in the Princess Bride-like fantasy Stardust (2007), and evoked poet Dylan Thomas' wife, Caitlin MacNamara, in the period drama The Best Time of Our Lives (2008). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
